General - all four licensing objectives
Provide facilities such as bins.
Co-operate with all local authorities.
Comply with legislation.
Help and co-operate with the public.
Set a good example.
Train staff to comply with above.
The prevention of crime and disorder
Provide a quick and friendly service. Also provide directions and knowledge of local service such as taxi stand, numbers and bus stops. Provide service numbers to public services and provide the facility to call these if necessary. Go the extra mile to help people and children.
Public safety
Do not cause obstructions and distractions inside or outside of the property. Provide facilities to encourage the use of bins and appropriate waste facilities such as posters and advice. Help people in need and provide appropriate advice. Train staff properly.
The prevention of public nuisance
Provide a quick service.
Co-operate with police and other authorities.
Train satff to deal with conflicts appropriately.
Clearly state police telephone numbers.
Try to avoid all types of conflicts.
Where there are any offensive smells created on the premises, provision shall be made for such smells to be vented from the premises so that they do not cause a nuisance to nearby premises.
Where the premises provide food to the public for consumption on or off the premises, there shall be provided outside the premises, at or near the exits, sufficient waste bins to enable the disposal of waste food, food containers, wrappings and other litter.
The protection of children from harm
Make sure kids are supervised.
Ask for supervisors.
Have appropriate authority number.
Make enquiries into children on their own and in apparent or suspicious danger.
No unaccompanied children under the age of 16 should be served after 9:30pm
