General - all four licensing objectives
Regular inspections for safety.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
The likelihood of this is deemed to be low, however on-site security (via Campus Support) is present in the event. They are provided with radios to contact the hub. Oldham Police Station is in the near proximity to the University. The site is equipped with CCTV cameras which are monitored via the hub control that is constantly staffed, and in very close proximity to the building.
All instances of crime and disorder will be reported to the police and will be kept in an incident log book which will be monitored. Any queue to the premises will be monitored and any person who is causing a nuisance or who appears intoxicated will not be allowed into the premises and will be asked to leave the queue.
Public Safety
Fire prevention and arrangements. A trained fire warden (trained in usage of extinguishers) is present at any events where the public is present. The area is provided with a full audible fire alarm (provision of smoke alarms and break glass points). Emergency lighting and fire fighting equipment is provided. All fire prevention equipment and lighting equipment is subject to test and maintenance programmes. The maximum number of people permitted within this stated area whilst the licence is in force will not be exceeded. Risk assessments are carried out prior to events to assess requirements for qualified fire and first aid stewards.
Emergency Aid: Some of the wardens/Stewards are qualified First Aiders (present during an event). In addition, further assistance is available via a call from the University Hub in case of an accident/emergency arising at an event.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
Likelihood of noise from the premises causing a nuisance to others is deemed to be low due to the structure of the property. Also, there are no residential properties in adjacent areas.
The Protection of Children from Harm
Performance would be clearly advertised whether or not they were suitable for children. No person under the age of 18 shall be admitted to any part of the premises where entertainment of an adult nature is being provided. In addition, any activities of an adult nature will not be able to be seen from outside the premises. Attendants will be on duty at each performance.
