Admission to the club is for members and their guests. Where there is a public performance of live music, the management committee will act as door supervisors, in turn. Persons, whether members or not who are suffering from an excess of alcohol will not be allowed in the club. We as a management committee believe our Rules and Bylaws fully support the Licensing objectives and are applied with rigour.
The prevention of crime and disorder
No person shall be admitted to, or shall leave the premises with opened bottles for glasses. Alcohol to be consumed on the Bowling Green will be served in plastic glasses, all other glassware is toughened glass. Rule 8 “Any member who…….suspension or expulsion as the committee sees fit” is determined to cover all forms of illegal activity. Members are not permitted to drink to excess.
Public Safety
The club conforms to the requirements of the present fire regulations. The exterior of the building and car park and Bowling Green are maintained to a high standard of repair. Escape routes are clearly labeled. Where a performance is taking place, before each performance the emergency procedures are given. All waste materials are kept locked within the premises until the appropriate day of collection. The Health & Safety officer has the “Managing Safety” Certificate of the Occupational Safety & Health Institute - ensuring full compliance with the various acts.
The prevention of public nuisance
When live performances take place, all exterior windows and doors are closed. Floodlights on the Green are used in compliance with the limits set out by OMBC. Members leaving the club are reminded by notice to respect our neighbors and that not to do so is an infringement of Rule 8. The car park is 5m from the nearest residential property. This provided adequate off road parking. Deliveries are taken between 10:00 & 12:00 when the road is least busy.
For premises where entertainment frequently takes place, music and associated sources (including DJs, and amplified voices) should generally not be audible inside noise sensitive property at any time. Where entertainment takes place less frequently, such noise should not be audible inside noise sensitive property between 23.00 and 07.00 hours.
All external doors and windows shall be kept closed when entertainment is being provided, other than for access and egress and in the event of an emergency. If additional ventilation is subsequently necessary, then it shall be attenuated in accordance with a scheme submitted to the licensing authority.
The licence holder or his representative shall conduct regular assessments of the noise coming from the premises on every occasion the premises are used for regulated entertainment and shall take steps to reduce the level of noise where it is likely to cause a disturbance to local residents. A written record shall be made of those assessments in a log book kept for that purpose and shall include, the time and date of the checks, the person making them and the results including any remedial action.
