Annex 2 - Conditions consistent with the Operating Schedule
General
The owner and the counter assistant are on hand to carry out steps to achieve the four licensing objectives, that is the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.
The prevention of crime and disorder
Individual order involves small sums, usually under £10. No cheques and no credit card accepted. When the amount is over £30, money is removed from the till and kept safe elsewhere. The counter assistant is always at the counter to prevent disorder. There has been no long queue at the shop.
Public Safety
Door opens easily without a key. Adequate lighting. Fire extinguisher is available and checked regularly. The counter assistant is to ensure customers’ safety in the shop.
The prevention of public nuisance
The counter assistant is to supervise and to control any public nuisance at the shop. There is not much noise or vibration in cooking, no smell escaping. Door to the kitchen closed when cooking is being done. There is an extractor fan. Litter is removed promptly inside and outside the shop.
There shall be provided at the premises containers for the storage and disposal of waste foods and other refuse from the premises. Those containers shall be constructed, maintained and located so that access to them by vermin and unauthorised persons is prevented and arrangements shall be made for the regular lawful disposal of their contents.
Where the premises provide food to the public for consumption on or off the premises there shall be provided at or near the exits, sufficient waste bins to enable the disposal of waste food, food containers, wrappings etc.
Where the premises provide food for consumption off the premises, the public area immediately surrounding the premises shall be cleared of waste food, food containers, wrapping etc. at the end of trading on each day. Such refuse shall be placed in a container designed for the storage and disposal of refuse and waste foods which shall be constructed, maintained and located so that access to it by vermin and unauthorised persons is prevented and arrangements shall be made for the regular lawful disposal of their contents.
The protection of children from harm
Most children come with parents. Very few children come after 9:00pm. The counter assistant is available to supervise and control the customers.
No unaccompanied children under the age of 16 should be served after 9:30pm.
