Annex 2 - Conditions consistent with the Operating Schedule
General
The owner and the counter assistant are on hand to carry out steps to achieve the four licensing objectives, that is prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance and the protection of children from harm.
The prevention and crime and disorder
Individual order involves small sums, usually under £10. No cheques and no credit cards accepted. When the amount is over £30 money is removed from the till and kept safe elsewhere. The counter assistant is always at the counter to prevent disorder. There has been no long queue at the shop. We are looking to install CCTV.
Public Safety
Door opens easily without key. Adequate lighting/fire extinguisher is available and is checked regularly. The counter assistant is to ensure customers’ safety in the shop.
The prevention of public nuisance
The counter assistant is to supervise and to control any public nuisance at the shop. There is not much noise and vibration in cooking, no smell escaping. Door to the kitchen closed when cooking is being done. There is an extractor fan. Litter is removed promptly inside and outside the shop.
There shall be no emission from the premises of any offensive smells, which are likely to cause a nuisance.
Where there are any offensive smells created on the premises, provision shall be made for such smells to be vented from the premises so that they do not cause a nuisance to nearby premises.
Where the premises provide food to the public for consumption on or off the premises, there shall be provided outside the premises, at or near the exits, sufficient waste bins to enable the disposal of waste food, food containers, wrappings and other litter.
Where the premises provide food for consumption off the premises, the public area outside and adjacent to the premises shall be cleared of waste food, food containers, wrappings and other litter which originated from the premises.
The protection of children from harm
Most children come with parents and very few children come after 9:00pm. The counter assistant is able to supervise and control the customers.
No unaccompanied children under the age of 16 should be served after 9:30pm.
